There are days in the year for everything it seems! We have always got gratitude on our mind at Sister & Soul, it’s a powerfully beautiful thing that’s why we plaster it across many of our products, and we felt in only appropriate to get behind World Gratitude Day which is the 21st of September to shout this message to the world.
World Gratitude Day is all about taking time in your day to stop and reflect on the amazing things we have in our lives. If you have breath in your lungs you have a reason to be grateful today!

Gratefulness feels good! It raises endorphins and makes us feel good when we experience it. It helps us focus and notice the things that are good in our lives instead of the bad, which in turn helps us develop positive thoughts and feelings about ourselves and our lives. Some of us are wired more for happiness than others naturally, but science has proven that gratitude can lift our happiness level above its pre-determined genetic set point... it’s a no brainer, choose GRATEFUL!
Studies of people have reported that people who show and practice gratitude are happier than your average human, and they are more pleasant to be around. When you are grateful, you feel loved and appreciated and cared for, so you naturally can treat people the same way. Gratitude makes other’s feel good, to offer up thanks and gratitude freely can pave the way for deeper friendships and stronger relationships. When we are grateful, we are more likely to be able to understand and empathise with others.
According to studies, GRATEFUL people report fewer aches and pains and are more likely to look after themselves with eating well and exercising. There are even some reports that argue that GRATITUDE can extend you life by months if not years….

Studies show that just the practice of spending 15 minutes writing down the things you are grateful for before sleeping can improve the quality and length of your sleep, according to a 2011 study in Applied Psychology: Health and Well-Being. So GRATITUDE it is! Start with 3 things lovely ones, what are 3 things you can be grateful for? Set them on your phone as reminders, write them down. Then add to the list the next day, little by little great changes are made.
